About

ABOUT THE IDIOPATH

Real Resilience, Real CPR Experience

At The Idiopath, we believe lived experience has the power to educate, connect, and save lives. Born from a moment that changed everything.

Our mission is simple: to empower others through real stories, practical knowledge, and unapologetic honesty. We deliver motivational talks, CPR training, and community sessions that go beyond statistics, because we’ve been there. Whether it’s building resilience, breaking silence around trauma, or learning how to save a life, The Idiopath exists to make sure no one faces the unexpected unprepared.

“Idiopath” means “arising spontaneously or without a known cause.”

Just like Rob’s cardiac arrest, no warning, no symptoms, just sudden collapse.

Our name reflects that reality… and the power of being prepared even when life throws the unthinkable at you.

FAQ's

Are you qualified to deliver CPR and AED training?

Yes, we hold valid certification as Basic Life Support Instructors through the Resuscitation Council UK.

While there are currently no statutory legal requirements in the UK for who can deliver CPR or AED training, the Resuscitation Council does recommend that trainers be appropriately qualified, competent in delivering CPR and AED use, and skilled in teaching these techniques effectively.

At The Idiopath, we not only meet those recommendations , we go beyond them.

We combine accredited instruction with real-world, lived experience of delivering CPR in an emergency situation. This makes our sessions not only compliant, but memorable, emotionally impactful, and grounded in real-life confidence.

Your training isn’t just theoretical,  it’s practical, personal, and powerful.

How long is a training session?

The length of a training session can vary depending on the number of attendees and the depth of content covered.

As a guide, a standard CPR and AED training session for up to 12 participants typically takes around 1 hour.

For larger groups or sessions with added elements like lived experience talks or extended Q&A, additional time may be required. We tailor our sessions to meet the needs of each group while ensuring everyone leaves feeling confident and equipped.

What is the ideal number of attendees in a training session?

We recommend a maximum of 12 participants per session to ensure everyone receives hands-on practice, individual support, and plenty of time for questions.

However, we’re happy to accommodate larger groups by offering extended or multiple sessions, ensuring no one misses out on the full learning experience.

Our priority is quality and confidence,  not just ticking boxes.
